I called Seagate about this and they said they have received several calls on this issue over the past few days. My drive is a Seagate 2TB SSHD hybrid that I installed in April 2014 and is still under warranty. And since I can't mount the filesystem, I can no longer create a backup from it. The El Capitan installer has essentially bricked my iMac. And I am not able to mount the disk, due to which I cannot even go back to Yosemite 10.10.

When I am trying to repair the macintosh hd, it says the disk cannot be repaired. Apple should just have people on the ready to help out in these situations and that help should be free. In either case it should have just aborted and left the OS as is. I had no known issues with the previous OS and so the install should have detected if there was and at that point aborted and told me there was an issue with my current OS that needs to be repaired before El Capitan can be installed.or at least told me that I have an issue that could not be repaired. Well as far as I'm concerned this is exactly what El Capitan should have told me and then aborted the install in the first place.
